Anisometropia is the condition in which there is a difference in the refractive error between the two eyes. A tolerance limit for anisometropia of 2 diopters between one eye and another is considered. According to its etiology, anisometropia can be congenital or acquired. The congenital one is prompted by glaucoma, cataract, among other congenital ocular alterations and by the appearance of uneven refractive errors in a congenital way (myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism). The anisometropia obtained occurs when there is a difference in the refractive state between each eye during treatment, other causes may also be aphakia or pseudoaphakia. In addition, taking into account the contribution of the ocular components, anisometropia can be classified as an axial anisometropia type, this refers to the difference between the axial length of each one of the eyes, having the greatest influence on anisometropia, especially in cases of people with severe anisometropia. As a treatment for this type of visual disease of the patient, an exam is performed to determine the damage to their views, once the result of the exam is obtained, the monofocal lenses are changed to the appropriate ones to counteract their problem and avoid major complications., which contributes to improving the condition of the patient's visual health.es_ES
