dc.descriptionThe focus of this study is the intervention of a respiratory therapist in a 63-year-old man diagnosed with community-associated bacterial pneumonia. One of the most common lung diseases affecting children and older adults worldwide is acquired bacterial pneumonia. The Streptococcus pneumoniae bacterium is the main responsible for this pathology. Community-acquired bacterial pneumonia has been considered a serious health problem in our country for the last 5 years, since it is one of the 3 most frequent causes of morbidity in children and the elderly, and one of the main reasons for visiting childcare centers; doctor and hospitalization in several home hospitals. The patient, a 63-year-old man, presented with type 2 diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, and immunosuppression, all of which are important risk factors for the development of this respiratory disease. Cigarette smoke, since the patient lives with a relative who smokes regularly, is also an important cause of community-acquired bacterial pneumonia in this case.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl foco de este estudio es la intervención de un terapeuta respiratorio en un hombre de 63 años diagnosticado de neumonía bacteriana asociada a la comunidad. Una de las enfermedades pulmonares más comunes que afectan a niños y adultos mayores en todo el mundo es la neumonía bacteriana adquirida. La bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae es la principal responsable de esta patología. La neumonía bacteriana adquirida en la comunidad ha sido considerada un grave problema de salud en nuestro país durante los últimos 5 años, ya que es una de las 3 causas más frecuentes de morbilidad en niños y ancianos, y uno de los principales motivos de visita a las guarderías infantiles. médico y hospitalización en varios hospitales domiciliarios. El paciente, varón de 63 años, presenta diabetes mellitus tipo 2, hipertensión arterial e inmunosupresión, siendo todos factores de riesgo importantes para el desarrollo de dicha enfermedad respiratoria. El humo del cigarrillo, dado que el paciente vive con un pariente que fuma regularmente, también es una causa importante de la neumonía bacteriana adquirida en la comunidad en este caso.es_ES
