dc.descriptionThe aim of the bibliographic study is to analyse the main reproductive parameters of a pig production system and the factors that influence in improving the quality of commercial profitability, since the strategies that are applied contribute to obtaining excellent characteristics of the meat that will serve for the food industry and thus satisfy the population demand; therefore, to reach this objective the reproductive efficiency of the sows is fundamental. There are several indicators that allow estimating the genetic capacity of the reproductive sow, among the most relevant we have: litter size, farrowing interval and piglet mortality, which are favoured with a good selection of parents, contributing to an efficient and profitable production, so it is important that pig farmers recognise the physiology of the estrous cycle and act at the right time, with the appropriate technique according to the production system. Among the results obtained, the relevance of including the pillars of animal production in the whole production process is highlighted, among them: selecting breeding stock (replacement and first-calf) with good genetics, as well as covering the nutritional requirements in order to maximise the fertility and health of the animal. On the other hand, sanitation management is essential to prevent diseases at the reproductive and survival level of the piglets; ensuring a healthy environment, as the environment can also affect birth and mortality of the piglets. It is important that different strategies are examined to improve the parameters for optimal pig production in different environments, contributing to improve the efficiency and profitability of the pig industry.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl objetivo de estudio bibliográfico es analizar los principales parámetros reproductivos de un sistema de producción porcícola y los factores que influyen en mejorar la calidad de rentabilidad comercial, puesto que las estrategias que se apliquen contribuyen a la obtención de excelentes características de la carne que servirá para la industria alimentaria y así satisfacer la demanda poblacional; por lo que, para alcanzar este objetivo la eficiencia reproductiva de las cerdas es fundamental. Son varios los indicadores que permiten estimar la capacidad genética de la reproductora, entre los más relevantes tenemos: tamaño de la camada, intervalo entre partos y mortalidad de lechones, los mismos que se ven favorecidos con una buena selección de los progenitores, contribuyendo una producción eficiente y rentable, por lo que es importante que los porcicultores reconozcan la fisiología del ciclo estral y actúen en el momento oportuno, con la técnica pertinente según el sistema productivo. Entre los resultados obtenidos, se destaca la relevancia de incluir los pilares de la producción animal en todo el proceso productivo, entre ellos: seleccionar reproductora (remplazo y primeriza) con una buena genética, además de cubrir los requerimientos nutricionales así potencializar la fertilidad y salud del animal. Por otra parte, el manejo del saneamiento es esencial para prevenir enfermedades a nivel de la reproductivo y de supervivencia de los lechones; garantizando de un entorno saludable, puesto que el medio ambiente también puede afectar el nacimiento y la mortalidad de los lechones. Es importante que se examinen diferentes estrategias para mejorar los parámetros y lograr una producción porcina óptima en distintos entornos, contribuyendo a mejorar la eficiencia y rentabilidad de la industria porcina.es_ES
