The world of research is an environment full of new ideas and circumstances in order to generate knowledge to help solve problems. This research focuses on comparing two orchiectomy surgical techniques (scrotal and prescrotal) in canines. Orchiectomy in males is a surgical intervention that consists of removing the testicles, for reasons such as: preventing testicular tumors, controlling unwanted behaviors, fighting for females or unwanted offspring. Castration is important and recommended to apply taking into account the patient's medical history, its preparation and correct recovery. When applying the "t-Student" statistical analysis used to compare the two orchiectomy surgical techniques (scrotal and prescrotal) used in this experimental work, it was determined that they present differences in surgery times in canines with an average of 18.17 minutes. in the scrotal technique and 27.67 minutes in the prescrotal technique. One of the reasons why the owner makes this decision is that it allows him to control sexual behavior and with it the possibility of reproducing without his desire. (Uribe, Prada, Rodriguez, & Bayona, 2018, p. 6). For the development of the foundation of the investigative work, several references focused on books, articles and research projects by various authors with respect to the study variables are mentioned. Orchiectomy can present unexpected complications like any other surgical intervention. However, the advantages of good veterinary practice and the necessary post-surgical care must be taken into account. According to the arguments analyzed in the bibliographical research, it was determined that the criteria coincide in believing that it is necessary to continue with the development of new studies that contribute to the well animal. Therefore, the present degree work is focused on studying two orchiectomy surgical techniques (scrotal and prescrotal) in canines, in order to contribute to growth control in reproduction rate and prevent pets from becoming strays. increasing the canine population in the urban sector.es_ES
