| dc.description | This document deals with soil improvements for the establishment of melon cultivation (Cucumis melo L.) in Ecuador. The stated objectives were to detail the importance of organic amendments in crops and to establish the benefits that organic amendments bring to melon cultivation, where it was determined that the effects of applying organic amendments to the soil help improve its physical properties. In addition to carrying out a better management of some waste, whether organic or inorganic, sometimes generating economic improvements; It is important to apply organic amendments to crops, especially vegetables, so that plantations obtain a better response in terms of plant development, plant height, fruit set, fruit weight and yield, and melon cultivation requires of the essential macronutrients for its development, such as Nitrogen 75 kg/ha, 7 k/ha of phosphorus, 64 kg/ha of potassium, 62 kg/ha of calcium 10 kg/ha of Magnesium, being of vital importance to analyze the amendment organic that contributes with the nutritional contents that the crop requires. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | El presente documento trata sobre las mejoras en el suelo para el establecimiento del cultivo de melón (Cucumis melo L.) en el Ecuador. Los objetivos planteados fueron detallar la importancia de las enmiendas orgánicas en los cultivos y establecer los beneficios que aportan las enmiendas orgánicas al cultivo de melón, donde se determinó que los efectos de la aplicación de enmiendas orgánicas en el suelo ayudan a mejorar sus propiedades físicas. Además de realizar un mejor manejo de algunos residuos ya sea orgánicos o inorgánicos, generando a su vez algunas veces mejoras económicas; es importante la aplicación de enmiendas orgánicas en los cultivos, especialmente en hortalizas, para que las plantaciones obtengan mejor respuesta en cuanto al desarrollo de las plantas, altura de planta, cuajado de frutos, peso de los frutos y rendimiento y el cultivo de melón requiere de los macronutrientes indispensables para su desarrollo, tales como Nitrógeno 75 kg/ha, 7 k/ha de fosforo, 64 kg/ha de potasio, 62 kg/ha de calcio 10 kg/ha de Magnesio, siendo de vital importancia analizar la enmienda orgánica que aporte con los contenidos nutricionales que requiere el cultivo. | es_ES |
