dc.description | This document dealt with the effects of the fungus Alternaria sp. on the cultivation of pitahaya (Hylocereus spp.) in Ecuador. The pitahaya has become a promising crop in recent years, due to the high acceptance of its fruits in the national and international market, due to its physicochemical and nutritional characteristics, this has led to increasing the hectareage of the crop as a great alternative for producers. However, this crop is not exempt from phytosanitary problems caused by pathogens of fungal origin, the main factor is due to the climatic conditions that occur in the country, a clear example is the scabies disease being its causal agent (Alternaria sp.), under poor management conditions it has been observed that this pathogen causes up to 80% damage. To control the fungus Alternaria sp. There are different management methods to mitigate the spread of the pathogen, using cultural, genetic, chemical and biological control methods, with the aim of controlling its economic threshold | es_ES |

| es_ES |
