The present clinical case deals with vergential dysfunction in an 8-year-old male patient who presents ocular discomfort due to convergence insufficiency or also called H51.1 common binocular dysfunction in which there is a misalignment of the position of the eyes; that affects us above all in the work of near vision. The objective of the research is to identify the impact that convergence insufficiency has on our patient, revealing each symptom that affects his academic performance. This research focuses on improving the patient's visual quality by eliminating the discomfort caused by said dysfunction. In the present study, the following optometric tests were carried out: Objective Refraction: autorefractometer, Subjective Refraction: Visual Acuity from far and near, Ocular Motility, Accommodative Amplitude, near point of convergence (PPC), cover Test, positive fusional vergence (PVF), negative fusional vergence (NFV), and accommodative flexibility. The applied treatment is visual therapy, we subject the patient to a visual training plan for 8 weeks, which was carried out in two phases: the intensive phase was carried out for 4 weeks monocularly, the maintenance phase was carried out for 4 weeks in a binocular way, where we implement Approach, Anti-suppression, ocular Motility exercises. Visual training has an effective result in Convergence Insufficiency, managing to eliminate each of the symptoms that afflict the patient, improving their academic performance and visual quality.es_ES
