The present clinical case was carried out in a 68-year-old female patient who came to the clinic with loss of far and near vision, sensitivity to sunlight, difficulty seeing at night and cloudiness in her central vision. The personal medical history of the patient indicated that she has controlled arterial hypertension and that she had a retinal detachment, which caused blindness in her left (LE) eye. An optometric examination was carried out where a cataract was diagnosed, which caused cloudiness in her central vision and sensitivity to light and hyperopic astigmatism (AH) causing blurred and distorted vision, affecting both her vision from far and near her. The objective of this research is to evaluate and describe the AH and the patient's cataract, thus seeing the degree of affectation of it in her vision. The methodology that was applied consists of the review of the clinical history, family and personal pathological history, examinations such as eye fundus, ishihara test, (AVSC) visual acuity without correction and (AVCC) visual acuity with correction that will help us with the diagnosis. and thus prescribe definitive treatment. The treatment that was established was sphero-cylinder frame lenses with protection against sunlight (Photochromic). In conclusion, a visual control every 6 months was recommended for the proper control of HA and cataract and to see if there are changes in graduation and to make the necessary correction for a better possible visual acuity.es_ES
