| dc.description | Among the multiple conditions that occur in patients we find keratoconus, whose main symptom is a deformation and irregular growth of the cornea, whose etiology can be of various reasons, generating a decrease in the patient's visual capacity. When detecting cases of this pathology, the professional optometrist must identify the appropriate treatment based on the progress of the pathology, trying to provide the patient with the best quality of visual health possible. The present clinical study is about a 28-year-old male patient who attends the consultation due to decreased distance vision, even when he wears aerial lenses. It indicates that six-monthly check-ups should be carried out, however, due to economic reasons, the prescription has not been complied with. The patient has not complied with the prescribed care, the clinical record describes the presence of astigmatic myopia and currently, after the respective check-up, he presents scissor-shaped reflexes, a symptom of a possible keratoconus. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | Entre las múltiples afecciones que se presentan en los pacientes encontramos el queratocono, cuyo principal síntoma es una deformación y crecimiento irregular de la córnea, cuya etiología puede ser de variada razón, generando en el paciente una disminución de su capacidad visual. El profesional optómetra al detectar casos de esta patología debe identificar el tratamiento adecuado en base al avance de la patología procurando aportar al paciente la mejor calidad de salud visual posible. El presente estudio clínico es sobre un paciente de sexo masculino de 28 años que asiste a la consulta por presentar disminución en visión lejana, aun cuando usa lentes aéreos. Indica que se debía realizar chequeos semestrales sin embargo por causas económicas no ha cumplido con la prescripción. El paciente no ha cumplido con los cuidados prescritos, en la hoja clínica se describe la presencia de miopía astigmática y actualmente, luego del chequeo respectivo, presenta reflejos en forma de tijera, síntoma de un posible queratocono. | es_ES |
