dc.descriptionA 6-year-old male patient who lives in Quevedo was diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus type 1 (DM1) 5 years ago with no family history of this pathology. He was referred to nutrition due to an elevation of glucose before snack time, being his first consultation with a nutritionist. A nutritional assessment is made to the patient and it is determined with the growth curves that his weight is ideal for his age, the height is a little high for his age and the body mass index (BMI) is low for his age. On the other hand, the biochemical or laboratory tests show anemia which is normally caused by chronic diseases such as DM1, in terms of diet the patient consumes excess carbohydrates and vegetables at a very low rate, he does not have any type of food intolerances or allergies. The diet plan will be a hypo hydrocarbon diet which is based on improving the quality of carbohydrates with the 5 daily meal times.es_ES

dc.description.abstractPaciente de sexo masculino de 6 años de edad el cual reside en Quevedo que fue diagnosticado con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 1 (DM1) hace 5 años atrás sin tener antecedente familiares con dicha patología, se lo deriva a nutrición por una elevación de glucosa antes de la merienda siendo su primera consulta con un nutricionista. Se le realiza una valoración nutricional al paciente y se determina con las curvas de crecimiento que su peso es ideal para la edad, la talla un poco alta para la edad y el índice de masa corporal (IMC) es bajo para la edad por otra parte los exámenes bioquímicos o de laboratorios presenta una anemia que es normalmente ocasionada por enfermedades crónicas como DM1 en lo dietético el paciente consumo exceso de carbohidratos y vegetales lo consume en un índice muy bajo, no presenta ningún tipo de intolerancias o alergias alimentarias. El plan de alimentación será una dieta hipo hidrocarbonada la cual se basa en mejorar la calidad de los Hidratos de Carbono con los 5 tiempos de comida diarias.es_ES
