Chronic renal failure is currently a public health problem worldwide. Its incidence and prevalence have increased in the last three decades, as well as the costs derived from its treatment. On the other hand, the evidence indicates that some of the adverse outcomes in patients with chronic renal failure can be prevented or delayed through early diagnosis and timely treatment. The symptoms of these people with chronic kidney disease may appear slowly and are not specific to the disease. Some people have no symptoms at all and are diagnosed by a laboratory test. There are some factors that can act as predisposing factors, initiators, markers of progression or susceptibility. In addition, there are modifiable and non-modifiable factors of kidney disease. Among the modifiable factors are: diabetes mellitus, obesity, arterial hypertension, smoking, dyslipidemia, high levels of uric acid, phosphorus, use of medications such as antibiotics, within the non-modifiable factors are: age over sixty years, race black, presence of a history of chronic kidney disease and some genetic factors. Therefore, this investigative work allows knowing the presentation of this clinical case with a focus on a 61-year-old male patient with chronic renal failure, in which anthropometric evaluation could be carried out and it was possible to analyze biochemical, clinical and of this person in order to be able to interpret the nutritional status of this person. With the intention of carrying out the corresponding feeding plan according to the pathology of this person, carrying out a 3-week follow-up in such a way that with compliance it was possible to improve his nutritional status, reaching the objectives related to this clinical case.es_ES
