Gastroenteritis is inflammation of the lining of the stomach and the small and large intestines. This is usually due to an infection caused by microorganisms. Gastroenteritis generally includes mild to severe diarrhea accompanied by loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, cramps, and abdominal discomfort. It can lead to dehydration and a possible electrolyte imbalance in children, so generating this pathology can occur due to poor hand hygiene in even the food that is consumed, it is very usual to treat this pathology with antibiotics so that it does not occur no complication. Therefore, in this present case, it emphasizes the causes and risk factors that lead a pediatric patient to suffer from gastroenteritis. Last but not least, as a health professional we must have a good area in health where we seek to demonstrate the knowledge acquired in a theoretical-practical way through the nursing care process, with a single objective, which is to act efficiently. in the implementation of all the necessary care to limit the damage that this pathology presents, therefore in the following clinical case we present a 1-year-old male patient who goes to the emergency area with his mother because he pesents a picture 5 days due to diarrhea and vomiting. Adequate follow-up will also be provided regarding your evolution through treatment, the type of diet you should eat to improve your health condition, and the relevant nursing care that will be applied through the use of the NANDA taxonomy (diagnoses), NIC (interventions) and NOC (results) with the purpose of fulfilling our objectives and goals proposed in this clinical case study.es_ES
