The present work deals with the clinical approach and nursing management in a patient of 87 years of age, with a history of arterial hypertension, who goes to the health center due to pain and functional limitation of the hip. Hip fractures involve the head, neck of the femur, and the areas between the bones. It is one of the main causes of illness and death in the elderly and affects the physical balance, mental, functional and social well-being of these patients. These fractures are usually the result of a fall or a direct blow. Hip fractures are usually very painful and often cause hip pain. Older people often have trouble resting at home, and these problems can have more serious consequences. A hip fracture can change the way you live. Older adults may not be able to perform their activities. They may need someone to help them with chores around the house. Patients may experience depression if the fracture limits physical activity. The patient had a complication from a fall from her height, which resulted in a fracture of the hip joint and required surgery. This topic moved me because although hip fractures are very common in the elderly, this patient did not get help from his relatives. Nursing care is planned through the collection of both objective and subjective data from the patient, physical examination, formulation of the diagnosis, planning actions and finally evaluating the patient's health. During the evaluation of the patient, functional patterns that have been altered were identified, allowing us to identify and therefore be able to make nursing diagnoses and provide special care to meet the needs of the patient.es_ES
