dc.descriptionThe COVID19 pandemic threatens public health around the world. The disease is the result of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV2) infection, first reported in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. In March 2020, the disease was present in more than 110 countries and the World Health Organization (WHO) declared it a pandemic; months later. The research established in the intervention of the respiratory therapist in a 78-year-old male patient diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia due to COVID-19. Patient who reported having the following signs and symptoms such as fever, loss of taste and smell, diarrhea, dyspnea, chest pain, loss of appetite, chills. Therefore, an adequate pharmacological treatment was administered to improve his health condition and thus avoid complications. The respiratory therapist in patients with this pathology is of the utmost importance since, through his timely intervention through the different respiratory therapy techniques applied to the patient, he will help to complement the pharmacological treatment and thus help in the recovery of the patient and avoid complications in his health condition.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa pandemia por el COVID-19 amenaza la salud pública en todo el mundo. La enfermedad es el resultado de la infección por el síndrome respiratorio agudo severo coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), reportado por primera vez en diciembre de 2019 en Wuhan, China. En marzo de 2020, la enfermedad estaba presente en más de 110 países y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) la declaró pandemia; meses después. La investigación establecida en la intervención del terapista respiratorio en paciente masculino de 78 años de edad con diagnóstico de neumonía adquirida en la comunidad por COVID-19. Paciente el cual manifestó tener los siguientes signos y síntomas como fiebre, perdida de gusto y olfato, diarrea, disnea, dolor a nivel del tórax, inapetencia, escalofríos. Por lo que se le administro el un tratamiento farmacológico adecuado para mejorar su condición de salud y así evitar complicaciones. El terapista respiratorio en pacientes con esta patología es de suma importancia ya que mediante su oportuna intervención mediante las diferentes tecinas de terapia respiratoria aplicadas en el paciente ayudara a complementarse con el tratamiento farmacológico y así ayudaran en la recuperación del paciente y se evitara complicaciones en su estado de salud.es_ES
