The Transmission of the disease (COVID-19) is an infection that affects the respiratory tract caused by a coronavirus that was first identified in the city of Wuhan (China) in the last month of 2019. The genetic succession of the virus indicates that it is a closely related beta of the SARS virus, the objective of this clinical case is to describe the clinical picture of respiratory failure due to covid-19 and its epidemiology in the 58-year-old female patient, this study has a method experimental and this work is justified due to the high rate of cases reported by covid-19 since within patient care the role of the respiratory therapist is fundamental, our theoretical support is established by the following topics: Respiratory Failure, Covid-19 and Syndromes Acute Respiratory, including that through complementary tests we can reach the diagnosis of the disease and that the administration of oxygen in patients who are diagnosed is important, since this disease is respiratory. In most cases, the signs and symptoms are usually mild. In severe cases, Covid-19 can lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome (SDRA). Mechanical ventilation (MV) is an essential support therapeutic resource, which has decisively contributed to improving the survival of critically ill patients, especially those with acute respiratory failure.es_ES
