| dc.description | When high myopia occurs in children and adolescents, it is imperative to control its evolution in order to minimize the impact and possible loss of vision at an early age. It must be taken into account that vision is one of the pillars for the development of the human being. This case study is about a 10-year-old male patient who has high myopia, comes to the clinic presenting headache, difficulty focusing. Once the pertinent tests have been carried out, the cause is determined and treatment with orthokeratological lenses is defined. The use of orthokeratological lenses is recommended in cases where myopia shows a high development, the patient showed a good adaptation to the treatment and his visual condition improved. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | Cuando se presenta miopía elevada en niños y adolescentes es imperativo controlar su evolución con el fin de minimizar el impacto y posible pérdida de la visión en temprana edad. Hay que tomar en cuenta que la visión es uno de los pilares para el desarrollo del ser humano. El presente caso de estudio es sobre un paciente masculino de 10 años de edad el cual presenta una miopía elevada, acude a consulta presentando cefalea, dificultad de enfoque. Una vez realizados los exámenes pertinentes se determina la causa y define el tratamiento con lentes ortoqueratologico. El uso de lentes ortoqueratologicos se recomienda en casos donde la miopía demuestra un desarrollo alto, el paciente demostró una buena adaptación ante el tratamiento y mejoro su condición visual. | es_ES |
