dc.descriptionThe present clinical case analyzes a 50-year-old female patient with a diagnosis of convergence insufficiency or also called CI, which consists of a visual problem where the eyes, when working together, present some difficulty when looking at close objects. The objective of this study is to determine the causes of convergence insufficiency in a 50-year-old female patient, and for its execution the methodology based on the analysis of the clinical history, physical examinations (AR- Autorrefractometer, AVL, AVC, AVCC, PPC, ocular motility, cover test, fundus and biomicroscopy) was used, fundus and biomicroscopy) and complementary examinations that allowed making a presumptive, differential and definitive diagnosis, as well as prescribing a treatment according to the symptoms presented by the patient, which correspond to headache, blurred vision, difficulty in concentration and asthenopia, which affect her daily activities. The treatment prescribed to mitigate the visual problem presented by the patient is a visual therapy called "Push-Up" and the use of glasses every time she performs near tasks, which will allow her to reduce her convergence insufficiency problem.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente caso clínico analiza a una paciente femenina de 50 años de edad que presenta un diagnóstico de insuficiencia de convergencia o también denominada IC, la cual consiste en un problema visual donde los ojos al funcionar juntos presentan cierta dificultad al mirar objetos cercanos. El objetivo de este estudio es determinar las causas de insuficiencia de convergencia en paciente femenino de 50 años de edad, y para su ejecución se empleó la metodología basada en el análisis del historial clínico, exámenes físicos (AR- Autorrefractómetro, AVL, AVC, AVCC, PPC, motilidad ocular, cover test, fondo de ojo y biomicroscopia) y exámenes complementarios que permitieron realizar un diagnóstico presuntivo, diferencial y definitivo, así como también prescribir un tratamiento acorde a los síntomas presentados por la paciente, los cuales corresponden a cefalea, visión borrosa, dificultad para la concentración y astenopia, los cuales afectan a sus actividades diarias. El tratamiento prescrito para mitigar el problema visual presentado en la paciente es una terapia visual llamada “Push-Up y el uso de lentes cada vez que efectué tareas de cerca lo cual le permitirá disminuir su problema de insuficiencia de convergencia.es_ES
