The following study shows the evolution of the nutritional care process of a 51-year-old male patient with a history of hypertension and overweight, diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. In order to prescribe the dietary therapeutic treatment, the results of the nutritional care process are compiled, in which type 1 obesity with high cardio vascular risk, decreased skeletal muscle according to bioimpedance test, glucose intolerance and dyslipidemia corroborated by laboratory analysis and clinical signs were found. Once the nutritional assessment is concluded with their respective diagnosis, a dietary therapeutic plan is prescribed according to their requirements and habits. A hyposodic - Normo caloric - Hyperproteic diet was prescribed, divided into 5 meals a day with an intake of 1900 kcal / day, in addition to increasing the levels of activity and physical exercise. This nutritional plan was monitored for a period of approximately 2 months, with intervals of 15 to 20 days between consultations, the results in this period show a weight reduction of 4.6kg, passage from obesity type 1 to overweight according to BMI, decrease in triglycerides, total cholesterol, c-LDL and improvement in basal glycemia levels. This shows a significant improvement in the symptomatology presented, with respect to the initial evaluation.es_ES
