dc.description | This bibliographic review refers to the clinical and laboratory evaluation of the canine patient with pancreatitis. It is important to know about the new diagnostic techniques for acute or chronic pancreatitis, because when certain signs are suspected, evaluation and laboratory tests must be used to obtain the appropriate treatment. From the detailed findings it is determined that pancreatitis is a serious and life-threatening disease. Its rate of occurrence in dogs and cats is unknown due to its difficulty in achieving an accurate and rapid diagnosis. Vomiting and abdominal pain are the key clinical signs in dogs with pancreatitis; patients with these signs should be carefully evaluated as they may have the disease. The key points in the treatment of pancreatitis are to stop the secretion of pancreatic enzymes, maintain the volume of intravascular fluid and pancreatic perfusion, and acute pancreatitis in dogs should be clearly aimed at correcting the symptoms presented by the patient Therefore, the use of analgesics, antiemetics and gastroprotectors is of vital importance. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
