dc.description | Severe depressive disorder is a type of depression or emotional disorder that produces feelings of sadness, guilt, and loss of interest in doing activities. This pathology affects the feelings, thoughts and behavior of a person, also causing multiple physical and emotional problems. All this causes the person to have difficulties to carry out daily activities, to relate, to be competent in the work activity, etc. According to the World Health Organization, around the world there are more than 300,000 people who suffer from this disease and only 25% of these know about it and are under treatment, women being the most affected. The clinical case presented below is about a 20-year-old patient who was diagnosed with severe depressive disorder at the time of being admitted to the Basic Hospital of San Miguel, which did not present signs or symptoms suggestive of a disease that alters her vital function, because a standardized care plan was applied according to the nursing diagnosis established by the NANDA taxonomy and the Nursing Care Process (PAE). According to the applied interventions, their scope was evaluated in order to establish improvements in the health and quality of life of the patient. The basic needs of the patient were attended to according to the altered functional patterns, risk factors, symptoms and clinical history of the patient. | es_ES |

dc.description.abstract | El trastorno depresivo grave es un tipo de depresión o trastorno emocional que produce sentimientos de tristeza, culpa y perdida de interés en cuanto a la realización de actividades. Esta patología afecta a los sentimientos, pensamientos y el comportamiento de una persona, causando además múltiples problemas físicos y emocionales. Todo esto produce a que la persona tenga dificultades para realizar actividades diarias, relacionarse, ser competente en la actividad laboral, etc. De acuerdo con la Organización Mundial de la Salud, alrededor de todo el mundo existen más de 300,000 personas que padecen de esta enfermedad y solo el 25 % de estos conocen de ella y están en tratamiento, siendo las mujeres mayormente afectadas. El caso clínico presentado a continuación se trata de una paciente de 20 años de edad que fue diagnosticada con trastorno depresivo grave al momento de ser ingresada en el Hospital Básico de San Miguel, la cual no presentaba signos o síntomas sugestivo de una enfermedad que altere su función vital, porque se le aplicó un plan de cuidados estandarizados de acuerdo al diagnóstico de enfermería establecido por la taxonomía NANDA y al Proceso de Atención de Enfermería (PAE). De acuerdo a las intervenciones aplicadas se evaluó el alcance de las mismas con el fin de establecer las mejoras en la salud y calidad de vida de la paciente. Se atendió las necesidades básicas de la paciente de acuerdo a los patrones funcionales alterados, factores de riesgo, sintomatología e historial clínico de la paciente. | es_ES |
