dc.descriptionThis work compiles the clinical case of a patient with head trauma due to a fall at home, this case was presented at the Liborio Panchana General Hospital, in the emergency department. For this case, the diagnostic methodology was implemented which investigates the clinical history of the patient, the formulation of presumptive, differential and definitive data, as well as their respective follow-up and reviews. Head trauma is any type of trauma to the scalp, skull, and brain. Injuries can be from a small area or bulge in the skull, contusion, wound on the scalp. In the theoretical framework, all relevant information from various authors and medical journals on the case presented here and its procedures for treatment and subsequent review is also emphasized. The present case is one of the most common emergencies. The same as according to the national institute of statistics and censuses INEC, hospital admissions for trauma only in the province of Santa Elena there are 20,745 cases of the male sex and 10,006 of the female sex. This trauma can cause bleeding in the brain internal tissue, as well as subarachnoid hemorrhages, subdural and extradural hematomas. In addition to symptoms such as loss of consciousness, vision, headaches, changes in behavior, confusion or amnesia and in rare cases loss of the sense of taste. And in the most serious cases, seizures or seizures, inability to move, loss of coordination, vomiting, difficulty speaking may occur, in these cases it is necessary to attend to the patient in a timely manner.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo recopila el caso clínico de un paciente con traumatismo craneoencefálico por caída en su domicilio, este caso se presentó en el hospital General Liborio Panchana, al área de urgencias. Para este caso se implementó la metodología de diagnóstico la cual indaga en el historial clínica del paciente, la formulación de datos presuntiva, diferencial y definitivo, al igual que su respectivo seguimiento y revisiones. El traumatismo craneoencefálico es cualquier tipo de trauma en el cuero cabelludo, cráneo y cerebro. Las lesiones pueden ser desde una zona pequeña o abultamiento en el cráneo, contusión, herida en el cuello cabelludo. También se recalca en el marco teórico toda la información relevante al tema de varios autores y revistas médicas, sobre el caso aquí expuesto y sus procedimientos para el tratamiento y posterior revisión. El presente caso es una de las urgencias más comunes. Mismas que según el instituto nacional de estadísticas y censos INEC, los ingresos hospitalarios por traumatismos solo en la provincia de Santa Elena se registran 20 745 casos del sexo masculino y 10 006 del sexo femenino. Dicho traumatismo puede generar sangrado en el tejido interno cerebral, así como hemorragias subaracnoideas, hematomas subdurales y extradurales. Además de síntomas como perdida de conciencia, visión, dolores de cabeza, cambios en el comportamiento, confusión o amnesia y en casos raros perdida el sentido del gusto. Y en los casos más graves pueden presentarse, convulsiones o ataques, incapacidad de movimiento, perdida de coordinación, vómitos, dificultad para el habla, en estos casos es necesario atender al paciente de manera oportuna.es_ES
