The threat of preterm labor is characterized by the presence of painful uterine contractions manifested with a rhythm of 4 contractions every 20 minutes or 8 contractions every 60 minutes, these usually occur from week 22 to before 37, additionally presents a 50% effacement of the cervix and a dilation> 3 centimeters. Scientific and technological advances have made it possible to detect this gyneco-obstetric problem in a timely manner, however, their incidence has not decreased. In Latin American and Caribbean countries, the threat of preterm birth is at the top of the list in the causes of maternal fetal death with 60 to 80% of total cases for the year 2018. In the vast majority of cases, it is unknown the original cause that triggers the threat of preterm birth, however, risk factors such as the mother's age, multiple gestation and infections, etc., stand out. The present clinical case is about a 23-year-old pregnant woman, 34.5 weeks old, diagnosed with threatened preterm delivery and admitted to the Basic Hospital of San Miguel, where the nursing objective was to develop a Nursing Care Process (PAE), taking into account risk factors, clinical history, symptoms and altered functional patterns.es_ES
