dc.description.abstractLa nutrición es muy importante en los cuidados de pacientes post-quirúrgicos, ya que se ha demostrado que la intervención de los nutricionistas es tan eficaz y eficiente para la recuperación de los pacientes. Este caso presenta a un paciente de sexo femenino de 20 años de edad con apendicitis aguda y desnutrición leve, en este caso clínica se procedió a evaluar, los valores antropométricos, bioquímicos, clínicos y dietéticos. Para proporcionarle el tratamiento nutricional adecuado. Es por ello que se requirió un seguimiento durante los días de estancia hospitalaria para evitar más complicaciones en cuanto a la desnutrición. El objetivo principal fue proporcionarle un plan dieto-terapéutico para la recuperación quirúrgica y estado nutricional de la paciente. Mediante la valoración nutricional a través del índice de masa corporal (17.3 kg/m2) se comprueba que la paciente presenta desnutrición leve que posiblemente se dio por sus días de hospitalización. Durante sus días de hospitalización se le brindo consejería nutricional sobre la dieta prescrita donde se hizo énfasis en grupos de alimentos, frecuencia de consumo y consistencia para mejorar su recuperación quirúrgica y su estado nutricional, se le realizo tomas de medidas antropométricas (peso, talla), se obtuvieron resultados favorables mejorando su estado nutricional e ingesta de alimentos.es_ES
