dc.descriptionThe study was carried out in the environment of the Entomology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo, located at Km 7.5 of the Babahoyo - Montalvo road. The plane coordinates of a point in the center of the research area are: longitude - 1.797222 m and latitude -79.484171 m of zone 17, according to the UTM projection and the WGS84 reference system. The distance between each Petri dish containing the adult C. sordidus inoculated with B. bassiana is 0.10 m, as described below: C. sordidus insects in larva, pupa and adult stages were collected from the corms of affected banana plants in the field, where a palìn was used to extract the corms with galleries, which were taken to the Entomology Laboratory. Before entering the Entomology Laboratory, all debris or impurities from the corms were cleaned with water and then disinfected with 0.5% sodium hypochlorite to avoid any type of contamination. The inoculation of the fungus in the adult insects of C. sordidus was carried out by microaspersion with micropipettes, dispersing the spores of B. bassiana in the dorsal part of the adult insect with 5 days of emergence. The inoculated adult insects were placed in Petri dishes with 30 g of pseudostem and 30 g of fresh corm, which were previously disinfected in boiling water for a period of 60 seconds. For each treatment, 5 adult insects were placed in three replicates, evaluated every 5, 8 and 10 days after inoculation. Treatment 8 (BbPLUS (B. bassiana) 11.5 ml/L) and treatment 9 (BbPLUS (B. bassiana) 12.5 ml/L), presented the highest number of dead insects, 8 days after inoculation.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl estudio se realizó en el ambiente del Laboratorio de Entomología de la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo, ubicada en el Km 7,5 de la vía Babahoyo - Montalvo. Las coordenadas planas de un punto en el centro del área de investigación son: longitud - 1.797222 m y latitud -79.484171 m de la zona 17, según la proyección UTM y el sistema de referencia WGS84. La distancia entre cada caja de Petri donde se encuentra el adulto de C. sordidus inoculado con B. bassiana es de 0,10 m, cuyo detalle se describe a continuación: Se recolecto los insectos de C. sordidus en estado de larva, pupa y adulto en los cormos de plantas de banano afectados en el campo, en donde se utilizó un palìn para extraer los cormos con galerías, los mismos que fueron llevados al Laboratorio de Entomología. Antes de ingresar al Laboratorio de Entomología se limpió con agua todos los desechos o impurezas de los cormos y después se desinfectaron con hipoclorito de sodio al 0.5%, para evitar cualquier tipo de contaminación. La inoculación del hongo en los insectos adultos de C. sordidus, se realizó por microaspersión con micropipetas, dispersando las esporas de B. bassiana en la parte dorsal del insecto adulto con un 5 día de emergencia. Los insectos adultos inoculados fueron ubicados en cajas de Petri con 30 gr de pseudotallo y 30 gramos de cormo fresco, mismos que fueron previamente desinfectados en agua en estado de ebullición por un periodo de 60 segundos. Para cada tratamiento se colocaron 5 insectos adultos con tres repeticiones, evaluándose cada 5, 8, 10 días después de la inoculación. El tratamiento 8 (BbPLUS (B. bassiana) 11.5 ml/L) y tratamiento 9 (BbPLUS (B. bassiana) 12.5 ml/L), presentaron mayor número de insectos muertos, después de 8 días de su inoculación.es_ES
