| dc.description.abstract | Bien sea una empresa o una persona física que tomen la decisión de establecer un vivero frutal hortícola, ornamental o forestal, deben tener presente que cada uno tiene manejos diferentes, las ornamentales, su producción está regida por temporadas y modos de variedades. La producción de frutales está muy marcada con el mercado al cual estará dirigida, su tipo de productos son muy estables en cuanto a la variedad, igual pasa con las hortalizas. Ahora bien, dado a que la producción de forestales está orientada mayormente a realizar plantaciones en lugares de difícil acceso impidiendo esto un manejo adecuado luego de la siembra, antes de realizar la siembra en viveros forestales hay que tener en cuenta uno de los aspectos más importantes, hay que tener siempre identificada la procedencia de la semilla, con datos y tanto la ubicación geográfica (a nivel de municipio o coordenadas geográficas) como de su altitud. Un área semillera es una superficie geográfica que es relativamente muy similar en clima y tipo de suelo, la cual es descrita mediante un gran código numérico el origen y la sección del sitio de la especie a reproducir, este aspecto es de gran importancia para el éxito de la plantación. Antes de tomar la decisión de construir un nuevo vivero reproductor sería interesante evaluar la compra de plántulas a los viveros ya establecidos que poseen todas las estructuras y personal calificado.
