The lacrimal apparatus is formed by two types of systems, we find the secretory system that is responsible for the production of the tear is composed of 2 glands, basal lacrimal and reflexes in it, we find the excretory system that, as its name indicates, seeks to eliminate or drain the tear once it has fulfilled its function. The tear film is composed of 3 layers, each one of them fulfilling a different function, among them we have, the superficial or lipid layer, this is in charge of avoiding the rapid evaporation of the tear, and it also prevents its spillage in the form of a drop. drop during the continuous blinking, aqueous layer its main function is to provide nutrients to the cornea, finally we have the inner layer or mucin this allows the tears to remain for the time due on the surface of the eye otherwise they would be eliminated quickly which would cause a keratoconjunctivitis sicca. The objective of this clinical case is to make known the problems that can be triggered if the tear film were to suffer some type of alteration, being a problem of these the keratoconjunctivitis sicca, this is usually one of the most frequent affections when tears do not maintains adequate lubrication is unstable or of poor quality, tear instability causes inflation among other types of damage. The case study was carried out on a 22-year-old female patient who came to a preliminary consultation presenting symptoms such as burning, itching, a sensation of grit, sensitivity to light and blurred vision, these conditions are due to the tear film suffering some kind of dysfunction.es_ES
